Stoneyholme Nursery School Partnerships

We respect our parents as their child’s first educators and understand that the partnership between home and school is vital to children’s learning and happiness. Parents and families are always welcome in school.

We have good relationships with local primary and high schools, with Sure Start and other health professionals, with gardeners from Pennine Lancashire Community Farm and a host of contacts within the community and beyond.

Through outstanding partnerships with the local community, children are provided with first hand experiences of the world of nature found in their local environment. They work with gardeners and family members in local allotments planting, growing and then cooking and tasting the food produced. This gives them an excellent understanding of the benefits of healthy lifestyles.

We have a close partnership with Edge Hill University, and we are a strategic partner to Tor View Specialist Learning Community  providing support and training to future teachers. We have placements for Post Graduate Certificate in Education students and Early Years Teacher Status students. The head teacher delivers lectures in early years to trainee teachers at Tor View and at Edge Hill University as an Associate Tutor.
